Maths & English / Reading & Writing

Maths & English / Reading & Writing

View Courses
Delivered by friendly and experienced tutors, this course helps you improve your maths, reading, writing and conversational skills used in everyday life. We take real life examples such as local issues of interest to you, handling your post, checking bills, understanding discounts in the sales, writing letters, making sense of information in documents and form filling. We are here to make sure you are going to have plenty of support to help you achieve your goals. Whatever your starting point and interest is, we provide a supportive and friendly atmosphere in which to gain an up-to-date national qualification. Courses run morning, afternoon and evening at Cauldon, Burslem and other community venues, including our two Neighbourhood Colleges at Longton and Tunstall. For an informal chat about the course, what it's really like, and how to get on it contact us. We'll help you work out exactly what you want to achieve at college and then we'll help you get there.

KEY FACTS ABOUT MATHS & ENGLISH / READING & WRITING

  • Students range from people straight from school, to those returning after a break from education
  • Tests are taken when you feel ready, not at a set time of year
  • Courses are run at flexible times to suit our students.

POPULAR CAREER PROGRESSION:

  • Learners often go on to do an Information Technology course - with some learners also using these for careers such as Teaching Assistant, or alongside NVQs at work. For you this may be as a way to feel more confident in helping children in the family, or to go on to higher education yourself. Whatever the reasons, taking that first step on to one of our Maths or English courses can help to give you the confidence to do even more.
