Providing over 50 different courses in a range of sports subjects Stoke on Trent College is at the forefront for students looking to pursue a career in the sports and fitness industries. Whether you are looking to develop a career in exercise science, fitness instruction or coaching we have the courses that will enable you to get the skills you need.

We offer progression routes from Level 1 to degree level delivered either full time or part time in the areas of sport, exercise, fitness and sports science. All our courses are designed with employers needs in mind and have significant vocational content. Our team of staff are professional and dedicated to getting the best out of their students.

They will provide students with cutting edge knowledge delivered in an exciting manner, with the use of the excellent resources and facilities available including a new Fitness Centre from Autumn 2013, available at Stoke on Trent College.

Emily Tomkinson

Emily is looking for a career in sports coaching and would like to eventually move into leisure management. The BTEC will give her a great qualification to set her on the right road, as well as the skills and experience needed in potential future jobs. She is also a Sports Leader and works with primary school children as part of the Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation Programme.

Emily says:
“Being involved with a range of different people and situations through both my course and the Sir Stanley Matthews Foundation Programme has given me great experience in a sporting setting.

“I feel my time at college has helped me to gain the skills to go on to further study and a successful career.”
