With an Apprenticeship, you can earn money while you’re learning and gain recognised qualifications as you work.
As employees, Apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Off the job, usually on a day-release basis, Apprentices receive training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships can take between one and four years to complete depending on the level of Apprenticeship, the Apprentices’ ability and the industry sector.

An IELTS qualification is the most common university entrance requirement for overseas students wishing to study in the UK. It is also required by many organisations which recruit large numbers of professionals from overseas, such as the NHS. The IELTS preparation course uses authentic test material and simulated activities to coach students through the test, and provides students with key strategies and techniques required for attaining 6.0 to 7.5. The College is NOT a testing centre. You will need to register for the test at a test centre.

Ethiopian teacher Meaza Teklegorgios could soon be working in a North Staffordshire classroom after learning new skills at college.
The 32 year old gave up her job as a nursery teacher in her home country to come to England in 2006.
But after she arrived Meaza found it difficult to continue her career – until she was offered a place on an English course for speakers of other languages (ESOL) at Stoke on Trent College.
The programme tries to help people overcome language barriers and Meaza was one of 20 students who became the first graduates of a course on childcare. The course she completed was made up of one English session and one childcare lesson a week over 18 weeks.
