What is this course about?

This course is for students aged 16-18 who are working at Entry Level in Maths and English and wish to follow a vocational route. You will have the opportunity to develop vocational skills as well as improve your English, Maths, ICT and personal and social skills.

Cauldon (with some practical sessions at
Burslem)

Entry Requirements

No formal requirements. You should be working at Entry Level in English and Maths, and you must have a commitment to learning and developing your skills.

How is it taught?

Learning takes place in vocational settings as well as classroom sessions, with a mixture of Practical & Theory Sessions. The course runs for one year with a timetable of eighteen hours per week.

How will I be assessed?

students build portfolios of evidence and assessments take place throughout the year. students will also complete English, Maths and ICT examination style assessments.

What else do I need to know?

This course covers a range of vocational options and your choice will determine which units are covered. The units for each vocational option will be a combination of vocational, personal and social development units. To get on the course you will need to complete an application form and then you will be invited to come in for an interview and English and maths assessments.
