Door Supervisor Premier Course

What is this course about?

Having a door supervisors license allows you to legally work as a security operative in licensed venue. However this license issued by the SIA goes beyond just working in night clubs and bars, with a door supervisors license you can work in many other areas of security, security guard, event security, mobile security, key holding and alarm response, retail security. It addition to this it has been identified by business that security staff should also have additional skills. Due to the nature of a security operatives role in most instances they will be first on the scene when an incident has occurred. whether this be an actual security incident or other type of incident, frequently this can be when an accident and injury has occurred and employers need security operatives to also be able to administer basic lifesaving first aid.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-existing entry requirements for this course. However you must be 18+ to apply for an SIA license, be eligible to work in the UK and all potential operatives undergo a CRB check before a license is issued. Please note we deliver the training and do not get involved in the license application process. Any concerns that you may have in regards to an SIA license should be addressed directly with the SIA. There will be medical questionnaires to be completed prior to the physical intervention module is delivered.

How is it taught?

The course is delivered over 5 days and flexible learning plans can be discussed if required. It is an intensive course and will require students to demonstrate a positive attitude.
The course comprises of 4 modules for the SIA licensing requirements. Working in the private security industry, working as a door supervisor in the private security industry, conflict management for the private security industry, physical intervention for the private security industry. In addition one day for emergency first aid at work and defibrillator.


How will I be assessed?

During the course you will be continually and formally observed by the instructor. You will be required to take written / online tests. The physical intervention module sessions are video recorded.

What else do I need to know?

This course does not allow you to operate in a role as a close protection officer nor may you operate CCTV where a license for this is required.
