What is this course about?

This course aims to:
Familiarise learners with infection control legislation and policies.
Develop an understanding of the causes of infections, the conditions in which they thrive and the ways that they can be spread.
Develop understanding of the methods of cleaning and waste disposal that help prevent the spread of infection.
introduce learners to hand washing techniques and the use of personal protective equipment that they should use to help to prevent the spread of infection.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements required to enrol on to this course.

Learners do need to be aware that in addition to attending the sessions within College, there is a requirement to complete a portfolio of evidence to be submitted to the Awarding Organisation (ncfe)

How is it taught?

The course is delivered within a classroom environment.
There is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions that learners do need to be prepared to participate in.

How will I be assessed?

Learners will need to submit a portfolio of evidence to the awarding organisation- the lecturer delivering the course will provide full and complete guidance/instruction a sto how this can be successfully completed.

This course is a must for:
Residential and Nursing Care Homes, Hospitals, GP Practices, Nurseries, Dental Practicies and other Allied Health Care workers ie Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Tattoo Artists, Tanning Salon operatives etc.
