Introduction to Aromatherapy

What is this course about?

This course is aimed at people who are considering vocational training in aromatherapy. It will give an insight into basic aromatherapy and will include some practical work.
You will learn about the history of aromatherapy and safe practice in using blended oils. You will learn a variety of massages and movements / home use of essential oils, including uses, health and safety, including cautions and storage.

How is it taught?

This is a 5 week course which introduces you to the practice and theory of aromatherapy.

How will I be assessed?

You will have your own learning log to track your progress which will be reviewed at the end of the course.

What else do I need to know?

The course aims are to develop skills in practical work, applying a variety of techniques and the theory elements associated with these skills. Develop confidence in communication, literacy and numeracy.

Course Objectives are to demonstrate a basic massage, list uses of essential oils for home use, list safety precautions and to state contra indications.

What could I do next?

Progression onto vocational qualifcations in aromatherapy is possible.
