What is this course about?

This course is designed for people in the electrical contracting industry who have responsibilities for the design, specification, installation, inspection and testing processes. Outline of course content: Selection and erection of equipment, inspection and testing. A significant amount of tutor guided home study is involved particually in the design project.

Entry Requirements

You need to possess 2330 level 3 or equivalent in the Electrical industry.

How is it taught?

Learning takes place in a friendly and relaxed environment, comprising of the tutor guided electrical design project & preparation for the written exam. Your lecturer is there to help you to get the most from your course, if you want to study on your own you can use one of the 2 Learning Resources Centres or one of the special study workshops in English, Mathematics. Languages and Information Technology.

How will I be assessed?

Externaly set & internally assessed design project. One written exam that is graded to a national standard.

City and Guilds is a nationally recognised vocational qualification which provides the background knowledge and skills in a specific work related area. This qualification is designed to meet the national electrical standards for electrical installation contractors that are engaged in design work.
