What is this course about?

This is normally a two year course including Safety, Key Plumbing Principles, Cold and Hot Water Systems, Sanitation Systems and Sheet Lead Weatherings. Assessment is by practical assessment and multi-choice phase tests. An interview and trade devised (BPEC) assessment is required. Note some daytime blocks of attendance will be necessary to enable practical assessments to be carried out. Please note there is a high demand for this course.

You will have an interview and an assessment to make sure this is the right level for you.

How is it taught?

Learning takes place in a friendly and relaxed environment. Your lecturer or the guidance team are there to help you get the most from your course. If you want to study on your own, you can use one of the 2 Learning Resource Centres or one of the special study workshops in English, Mathematics and Information Technology.

How will I be assessed?

Practical competence is formally assessed using realistic exercises in our workshops. Supporting knowledge is assessed using projects and City and Guilds written and online examinations.

What else do I need to know?

City and Guilds is a nationally recognised vocational qualification which provides the background knowledge and skills in a specific work related area.
