CUTTING IT: Two young entrepreneurs have joined forces to open a salon.

Friends Chelsea Swift, right, and Charlene Gardiner, both aged 20, have launched Fabulous Hair and Beauty on King Street, Longton.

The venture came about after the pair won a £1,500 grant from the Festival Park support agency Business Initiative.

Chelsea, of Meir Heath, said: "We'd both been mobile for a while and built up a good client base, so we just decided to go for it.

"We had to present our business plan to a panel of judges for the Business Initiative grant - there were about 25 companies going for it and we got the full amount."
