The Sector

Every sector of the economy needs people with specific commercial and business skills. Large businesses will employ hundreds of people in departments dedicated to things like marketing and human resources; smaller employers will often look for people with a rounded skillset in the effective and profitable operation of their business.

The Careers

As business is such a varied sector, there are many career pathways for you to consider. Our previous students have embarked on exciting careers in a broad range of business areas e.g. marketing, accounting, sales and human resources. Some students may also choose to start their own businesses. The number of under-35s starting businesses has risen by more than 70% over the last decade – with many start-ups focussed on the digital market. Our programmes can all lead to university or directly into employment.

Stacy Banks – Business

My course at college helped to develop my communication skills.  I had to make new friends at college, fitting in and being part of a team has been a big bonus in finding work.  The course taught me how to have a working relationship with others – something I now use on a daily basis.
