This work based Apprenticeship is ideal if you are working in, or want to work within a Warehousing role at an advanced level. You will gain technical knowledge and real practical experience to start your career. You will learn in the workplace, away from your workstation and you will have the opportunity to practice and embed new skills in a real work context. You will take a Diploma in Warehousing and Storage at Level 3. If you do not have maths or English qualifications at the necessary level, then you will need to achieve these at Level 2 to be successful in your Apprenticeship. Apprentices would gain a range of skills, and would work as the Team Leader, in addition to your normal warehouse operation activities; you will also have delegated responsibility for overseeing the correct selection and packing of customer orders, ensuring your team complete these tasks on time ready for despatch. You would manage the day to day ordering and delivery of materials and provisions of services that are agreed under the contracts with suppliers. Then monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers against the service level agreement for the appropriate contract. Apprenticeship Standard (2) – Supply Chain Operations

This work based Apprenticeship is ideal for those wanting a career working within the Supply Chain industry. You would learn in your workplace, away from your workstation and have the opportunity to use our new modern facilities here at the College. You will have the opportunity to practise and embed your skills at work. During your Apprenticeship, you will be primarily responsible for managing the movement of goods for a variety of customers across all sectors, your customer base will range from large global organisations to sole traders and private customers in local areas, depending on your employer. You may be required to work in shifts, for example overnight or working on weekends, and some employers (depending on the nature of the organisation) may require you to work internationally in Europe or at worldwide destinations once your Apprenticeship is completed. For those without the required level of maths and English you will need to achieve these at Level 1 and take a test at Level 2 to be successful in your Apprenticeship. Apprenticeship Standard (2) – Supply Chain Warehouse Operation

This work based Apprenticeship is ideal for those wanting a career working within the Warehousing industry. You would learn in your workplace, away from your workstation and have the opportunity to use our new modern facilities here at the College. You will have the opportunity to practise and embed your skills at work. As a Warehouse Operative you could work in a variety of warehouse environments. Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records and documentation, and cleaning. You would safely use a range of equipment, machinery and vehicles relevant to your role and setting. This could include mechanical racking systems, materials handling equipment (MHE) or fork lift trucks. You will communicate with a wide range of people and customers. You will meet customers? expectations by providing a quality service that encourages repeat business. You will become highly competent in using industry-recognised systems and associated services (eg Traffic/Warehouse Management Systems) and will be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines. It is common within this sector to work shifts including 4-on-4-off, days, nights, evenings and weekends. For those without the required level of maths and English you will need to achieve these at Level 1 and take a test at Level 2 to be successful in your Apprenticeship. Introduction to the Role of Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver BTEC Level 2

The BTEC Introduction to the role of professional taxi and private hire driver qualification is now a mandatory requirement for taxi and private hire drivers coming into the industry by most licencing councils. The course covers drivers and passengers? health and safety, road safety, fuel efficient driving, driving laws and licencing conditions, vehicle maintenance, customer service skills, equality and disability awareness, transporting children, safe carriage of luggage. It is a knowledge based qualification which is delivered by qualified industry competent tutors in a classroom environment. This course can be delivered over a short period of time i.e. 3 weeks or a longer period subject to demand.
