Student Quotes

At the start of the work placement I had no confidence in the skills I had but thanks to the tutors and my workplace, I have improved in everything I do and learnt a lot.  Now I am really proud, confident and ready to push myself further.

Prince Aboagye – Offered an Engineering Apprenticeship

Before I started my Traineeship I didn’t know what I wanted to do but once I spoke to the teachers I really wanted to do the course.  The Traineeship helped me to be more confident with interviews, I also gained more knowledge in the area I want a career in through my work experience.

Lilla Csonka – Returning to Education

I found a placement that I enjoyed, in a field that I am enthusiastic about.  I sharpened my skills and am starting to develop those I need to progress.  I can’t thank the staff enough for helping me realise my ambitions and now have the confidence to carry them out.

Rob Ailwood – Offered Employment in I.T.

Case Study

When Matthew began his journey with us, he was unsure about what he wanted to do in the future. He found some aspects of his previous school life challenging but felt the friendly environment at the College helped him take a positive approach towards learning. Matthew had been out of education for a little while and our incredibly supportive Prince’s Trust team helped him settle back in and build up his confidence.

With little idea of what he wanted to do, the Prince’s Trust staff took time to understand Matthew’s strengths, passions and interests to give him a career direction that was fulfilling to him. Matthew has decided he would like to become a teaching assistant and is now focusing intently on achieving his Level 1 Maths and English. This step will allow Matthew to progress onto an apprenticeship in the future and make his career aspiration a reality.

Matthew Grundy, Traineeship student.

The College has supported Matthew through every step of his journey and our traineeship staff are incredibly passionate about what they do.

The College has been supportive and helpful, even when I struggled to understand.

I’d like to thank Personal Tutor, Barry, as well as Recruitment and Support Officer, Leanne, in particular for giving me a new direction and taking the time to understand the specific things I was struggling with.
