Course Summary

This course covers a broad range of skills for electrical installation in domestic, commercial and industrial premises, installation practice and technology and information technology. Learning at the College is based on a number of taught classroom and practical sessions, there are also some hours of directed study where you work at your own pace with the guidance of a member of staff.

pre-induction interview/assessment to
make sure this is the right level for you.

How Is It Assessed

Assessment will include assignments, projects, case studies, practical exercises along with written and online examinations. Please note that some block attendance will be required for practical assessments.

How Is It Taught

Stoke on Trent College has some of the most comprehensive and up to date facilities in the country. Learning takes place in a friendly and relaxed environment and all staff have an excellent knowledge of the industry gained through many years of experience. If you want to study on your own you can use one of the Learning Resources Centres or one of the special study workshops in English, Mathematics and Information Technology. The workshops are large and spacious and are well equipped. It will be necessary for students to undertake some research on an individual basis to help support the learning of the underpinning knowledge aspect of the course.

The course provides the underpinning knowledge that can help to provide employment in the Electrical Installation Industry and provide technical certificates for Apprenticeship programmes at Level 3.
