Course Summary

Unit 1 – Principles of team leading
This unit provides learners with an understanding of leadership styles in organisations. Learners will develop knowledge of team dynamics and the techniques used to manage the work of teams. Learners will also gain an appreciation of the impact of change management and how a motivated team affects an organisation

Unit 2 – Understand business
This unit equips learners with an understanding of organisational structures and the business environment. Learners will also gain knowledge of business reporting within an organisation

Unit 3 – Understand how to communicate work-related information
This unit equips learners with an understanding of the principles and techniques of work-related communication both verbally and in writing. Learners will also develop the knowledge of a range of documents required for different types of meetings in a business environment

Unit 5 – Understand customers
This unit provides learners with an understanding of the different types of customers. Learners will understand the relationship between good customer service and customer loyalty and how this affects the organisation in terms of reputation and image

Unit 6 – Understand how to deliver customer service and resolve problems
This unit equips learners with an understanding of customer service delivery and the relationship between customer service and brand. Learners will be able to identify the techniques used to resolve customer service problems

Unit 8 – Understand how to develop working relationships with colleagues
This unit provides learners with an understanding of the principles of effective team working. Learners will be able to identify what is required to develop working relationships with other teams and departments

Unit 9 – Understand health and safety procedures in the workplace
This unit aims to provide learners with an understanding of individual health and safety responsibilities and laws affecting the workplace

Unit 13 – Understand personal development
This unit aims to give learners an understanding of the role of a team leader and how to plan for personal development

Course Requirements

Entry Requirements

* You must be aged 19+
* You must live in England (not available to people living in Ireland, Scotland or Wales)
* You must have been an EU resident for at least 3 years
* No qualifications are necessary for you to start the course.
All learners are subject to an eligibility check before you can start the course. You may be required to forward information to us about your current employment or income/benefit status to allow you to get started.

How Is It Taught

As you work through the learning materials, you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you support, advice and guidance on the course content as well as providing robust feedback on the work you complete. This course consists of 2 assessments to be completed 6 weeks apart. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading Knowledge.

What Could I do Next

After completing a distance learning qualification and receiving confirmation from your assessor that the course has been achieved, you are able to enrol on another distance learning qualification.

What Else Do I Need To Know

The assessments are divided into units and submission of answers is per unit. Support is available from your assessor throughout the course and after the completion of each unit when the assessor will assess the answers provided and provide written feedback.
