Course Summary

This course is for students aged 16-19 who are working at Entry Level in Literacy and Numeracy and wish to follow a construction route. You will have the opportunity to develop vocational skills in a practical setting as well as improve your Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and personal and social skills.

No formal requirements, but you will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to
make sure this is the right level for you.

How Is It Assessed

Students build portfolios of evidence and assessments take place throughout the year. Students will also complete English and Maths

How Is It Taught

Learning takes place in vocational settings as well as classroom sessions, with a mixture of practical and theory sessions. The course runs for one year with a timetable of eighteen hours per week.

Level 1 vocational courses, employment or training.

What Else Do I Need To Know

This course covers a range of vocational options and the vocational route chosen will determine which units are covered. The units for each vocational option will be a combination of Vocational, Personal & Social development units. To get on the course you will need to complete an application form and then you will be invited to come in for an interview and assessment.
