Course Summary
This course is designed for adults who want to further develop knowledge and skills in creating and developing ceramic based wares and crafts. This is an ideal progression course for those who have completed the Ceramics and Pottery Throwing course at the College.Are you interested in throwing and glazing? Do you wish to use pottery wheels? Then this course is the ideal way for you to develop your knowledge and practical skills.
Taught at our spacious art and ceramics rooms in the brand new Digital and Creative Hub at Cauldon campus, opposite Staffordshire Univerity and Hanley Park, this course will provide you with an awareness and understanding of the creative process as well as practical knowledge of how to apply this to your ceramic designs. You will explore a range of methods and techniques as well as learning how to develop your own ceramic work.
On this course you have access to workshops, pottery wheels, spray booths, kiln and drying rooms. This course is portfolio assessment only (no exams)!

Entry Requirements
None required, although prior experience in Art and Design related subjects is advantageous.How Is It Assessed
The assessment is through a personal portfolio and sketchbook submission, the portfolio will document your creativity and skills development on the course. There is continual feedback and workshop discussions. There are no exams to sit for this course. All work is moderator assessed after submission to course tutor.How Is It Taught
The course is taught by specialist lecturers including working professionals, who aim to help you to gain the most from the course.The course is delivered through a mixture of practical workshops, lectures and some self directed study. You will have fun with opportunity to learn how to develop your pottery skills and knowledge, practical techniques and skills.
