Course Summary

This work based Apprenticeship is ideal if you are working in, or want to work as an Electrician at an advanced level.

You will gain technical knowledge and real practical experience to start your career. You will learn in the workplace and have formal training in our state of the art workshops. You will have the opportunity to practise and embed new skills in a real work context. If you do not have maths or English qualifications at the necessary level, then you will need to achieve these at Level 2 to be successful in your Apprenticeship. You will complete a Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification.


Your new skills would enable you to install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments. You might work in both indoor and outdoor settings. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies. You will be able to work on your own proficiently and work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner.
