As you work through the learning materials you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you support, advice and guidance on the course content as well as providing robust feedback on the work you complete. Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People (QCF)
What else do I need to know?
CL2A2: Young children’s development This unit will enable learners to gain an understanding of how young children’s development during the first three years of their lives and how meeting their basic needs supports development. TDA 2.2: Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people This unit provides the knowledge and understanding required for safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. CFC 9: Respecting and valuing children The aim of this unit is to gain an understanding of respecting and valuing children and some knowledge of the organisations that support children’s rights. NH/L2 03: Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet In this unit, learners gain an awareness of the information that is provided on food labels and how this may be used to plan a healthy diet. They will learn the facts behind nutritional claims on food labels and will consider the advantages and disadvantages of using food additives. Learners will also evaluate their own diet and make recommendations for improvement. CL2 A9: Importance of play for early learning This unit gives learners an understanding of the importance of play within early learning. CL2A1: The value of play to young children This unit will enable learners to gain an understanding of the value of play in the development of young children and how the role of the adult supports this. CFC 13: Sharing learning experiences with children The aim of this unit is to develop the learners’ knowledge and understanding of types of learning experiences, which could be shared with children, and the importance of these experiences to promote learning.
