What is this course about?
To achieve this qualification you will have to successfully complete all eight units within the course along with an externally set Knowledge Test and a Practical Synoptic Profile.
As an adult entrant onto this course you may have some exisiting skills but to make sure that this course is right for you a pre- induction interview will be conducted to make sure that this course is right for you.
How is it taught
Stoke on Trent College has some of the most comprehensive and up to date facilities in the country. Learning takes place in a friendly and relaxed environment and all staff have an excellent knowledge of the industry gained through many years of experience. The course is split between practical in the workshop and theory in the classroom.
How will I be assessed?
Students are frequently assessed both in the practical environment and in the classroom. There are eight theoretical unit end tests, various practical models and a final practical assessment. The final theoretical test is an online test on the knowledge gained throughout the course.
What else do I need to know?
Students will need to provide their own hi viz jackets and safety footwear.
What could I do next?
Further trade related courses, the level 2 full time diploma or progress to an apprenticeship in the industry.
