What is this course about?These qualifications aim to: ? provide learners with a range of underpinning knowledge in both generic and specialist cleaning principles ? meet the needs of learners who work or want to work in the cleaning sector. These qualifications can act as a knowledge-based certificate within the cleaning apprenticeship framework. The objective of these qualifications is to help learners develop their knowledge and understanding of the skills required for working in the cleaning sector. This qualification consists of 3 mandatory units: ? Unit 01 Dealing with routine and non-routine waste ? Unit 02 Health and safety for the cleaning and support services industry ? Unit 03 Working with customers and others in the cleaning and support services industry And 19 optional units: ? Unit 04 Cleaning and maintenance of external surfaces and areas ? Unit 05 Cleaning of confined spaces ? Unit 06 Cleaning of food areas ? Unit 07 Cleaning of glazed surfaces and facades ? Unit 08 Cleaning of high risk areas (controlled environments) ? Unit 09 Cleaning of interiors and washrooms ? Unit 10 Cleaning of specialist electronic equipment ? Unit 11 Deep cleaning of internal equipment surfaces and areas ? Unit 12 Maintenance and minor repairs of property ? Unit 13 Manual street cleaning ? Unit 14 Mechanical street cleaning ? Unit 15 Periodic cleaning of hard and semi hard floors ? Unit 16 Periodic cleaning of soft floors and furnishings ? Unit 17 Working safely at heights in the cleaning and support services industry ? Unit 18 Cleaning with water fed pole systems ? Unit 19 Internal cleaning of passenger transport.
How is it taught?As you work through the learning materials you will have the support of a knowledgeable assessor/tutor who will give you support, advice and guidance on the course content as well as providing robust feedback on the work you complete. Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate.

These courses receive government funding, and some learners will be eligible for FREE tuition if you meet specific criteria. Some ‘L’ code courses from Level 2 upwards may also have an Advanced Learning Loan available for most learners aged 19 and over.
