Computing – CISCO CCNA Parts 1 and 2
What is this course about?
This course will be an introduction to networking using the Cisco CCNA Networking Academy curriculum.
Content includes Fundamental Networking Principles, IP Addressing, Routing Protocols, Network Device Configuration, OSI and TCP/IP Layers and Cabling.
The main focus of the module is to cover the basic network concepts and to be able to configure small networks with appropriate IP addresses with routing protocols.
Ideally you will have some understanding of networking concepts either through work or related study at a lower level.
How is it taught
Each lesson consists of a lecture, tutorial and practical. You are encouraged to ask questions and to work in small groups on some of your tutorials as this helps provide a range of learning opportunities. Tutor support is also provided outside of the teaching time via an online learning environment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment consists of online multi-choice tests, practical assessments and a case study.

If you want to study on your own you can use one of the Learning Resources Centres or one of the special study workshops in English, Mathematics and Information Technology.
