What is this course about?

The course covers the development of a web site that connects to a database along with associated technologies that allow a database interactivity by the end user.
The content includes: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, web database connectivity, HCI design, storyboarding, graphics, data modelling, usability and web standards.
This course offers a hands-on approach to designing and developing using the latest features.

How is it taught

Each 3 hour lesson consists of a lecture, tutorial and practical. You are encouraged to ask questions and to work in small groups on some of your tutorials as this helps provide a range of learning opportunities. Tutor support is also provided outside of the teaching time via an online learning environment.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment consists of a coursework portfolio (a phased series of practical tasks).

Due to the level of this course all students will need to speak to a member of the HE Computing team before being accepted on to the course.
