What is this course about?

This course is a combination of various subject areas through the learning and assessment of practical skills and the relevant underpinning knowledge required to apply the necessary industry safe working practices. Subject areas – Theory Gas Regulations, Pressure and Flow, Pipework, Combustions, Ventilation, Flues, Controls, LPG. Subject areas – Practical Gas Pipework Installations, Meters, Tightness Testing, Purging, Installation and Maintenance of Cookers, Fires and Central Heating Boilers.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs grade A*-C, BTEC First Diploma, appropriate NVQ Level 2 or Intermediate qualification. You will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to make sure this is the right level for you.

How is it taught?

You will spend 16-18 hours per week in college.

How will I be assessed?

Combination of practical assessments and theory exams from direct observation and multiple choice exams.

What else do I need to know?

It is your responsibility to provide: Safety shoes Hi vis jacket Note pad and general stationary for the classroom lessons.
