Taught sessions will be varied and include practical activities, discussions, theory work and simulations.

All work will be internally assessed in college before external moderation at the end of the course.

English and Maths are an integral part of the curriculum at this level to support your skills for employment. The college provides a wide range of support services to help learners achieve and progress further. Learners will be expected to purchase and wear a uniform. You will be expected to have a clear DBS to enable you to attend work placement.

Successful completion of this course may enable progression to Level 2 Preparing to Work in the Health Sector or Level 2 Early Years Education and Care.

Primary and nursery education teaching professionals

Primary (and middle school deemed primary) and nursery education teaching professionals plan, organise and provide instruction to children at all levels up to the age of entry into secondary education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with or plans and develops curriculum and rota of teaching duties.
