What is this course about?
The course will develop your skills in literacy and numeracy whilst introducing you to a range of topics in science and health studies. You will also develop your research and writing skills to enable you to progress to the Access course with ease.
You will be introduced to topics in Biology, Sociology, and Psychology at a level that will enable you to develop a clear understanding of new terms and concepts.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. You will be invited to a taster session and given information about the course and progression opportunities. You will also complete an initial assessment which will help you to identify which course will be the most suitable starting point.
How is it taught
The course is taught using a range of methods including lectures, online learning, videos, role play, practical tasks and activities, experiments, group work and presentations. Throughout the course you will develop your skills in range of areas which will prove invaluable for further study

Your course will be assessed using a range of methods including individual written work, research tasks, group work, discussions and practical experiments.

Once you have successfully completed this course you may be able to enrol onto the Access to Higher Education course. We recommend that you research your chosen degree to ensure that you meet the entry requirements before you start the Access course. For example, if you need relevant work experience you can do this whilst you are studying this course.
