Advice for Higher Education Students

Current Students

We can assure you we have a robust learning and teaching strategy in place to provide you with all the support you need to be successful in your studies. Ensuring you have access to your tutors and resources along with your safety and success are our absolute priorities.

Learning and Teaching

We want to provide you with reassurance around how we are planning to deliver outstanding learning and teaching experiences throughout this academic year and during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to use a mixture of live streaming, eLearning and directed study and resume face to face study with provision adjusted to meet with the latest Government advice.

We will follow all government advice for your wellbeing, and deliver outstanding learning experiences to help you achieve the career you deserve. We are supporting our learners through the utilisation of our online learning platform Canvas, where you will find a wealth of resources from your teaching staff as well as links to electronic textbooks, journals and videos. Dependent on ongoing Government advice we may offer some lessons through software such as Microsoft Teams in addition to streaming for tutorial purposes. This also provides an active, real time study experience combining live lectures and opportunities to discuss and interact with your tutors and peers.

Support

Our support service team will be on hand to ensure you have the information, advice and guidance you need throughout your course. You will continue to have a dedicated tutor for your course who will guide you through your studies and ensure you have all the support required to enable you to successfully achieve your chosen qualification. You will have access to a range of specialist support services including disability, financial and careers support.

Safety is Our No1 Priority

Our key priority is the safety and well-being of all our students and staff as we continue to move forward in these challenging times and when we begin to open our doors once again.

Social Distancing: Once we do open measures will continue to ensure social distancing is maintained throughout our buildings, including inside the classrooms and workshops as well as directional signage to ensure everyone moves around the buildings in a safe and controlled way.

Cleaning: the college has increased its cleaning regime and Cleaners will be on site all day maintaining high levels of cleaning activity

Contact We are continually monitoring government advice so that we can make the best decisions to keep you safe. This means that our plans may change. Our website is regularly updated with information to help with your application and studies.
