Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy students at Stoke on Trent College wowed judges at the Hair and Beauty North West regional finals in Blackpool, winning top spots across a range of different categories.
School Links student Zvinaiye Samanyal – who currently studies one day a week at the College’s Cauldon campus as well as attending school – won first place in the Evening Style category
Laura Taylor took second place in the Ladies Commercial First Year Blow-Dry, and Bethannie Raymond took fourth spot in the Ladies Commercial Cut and Finish.
Beauty students Chloe Moore and Leanne Whiting also impressed judges at the event, taking second and third place in the Nail Art category.
These results overall saw Stoke on Trent College take third place as the best college on the day out of a possible 25.
First place winner Zvinaiye, aged 16, from Chell Heath, said, “I was really nervous going into the competition and I really didn’t think I was going to get very far.”
The triumphant students will now travel to the overall finals on March 14, at the Blackpool Winter Gardens in a bid to show they really are a cut above the rest.
Danielle Birkin, a lecturer in Hairdressing at Stoke on Trent College, said, “All students who took part worked extremely hard and dedicated their own time to do well and ensure the competition was a success.
“We would like to thank all those who have supported the students and ourselves for this competition.
