2pm, Saturday, 24 March, 2012.
Up and coming rock band All the Young are to play a special acoustic gig at Stoke on Trent College.
It will be a triumphant homecoming for the Potteries four piece band who recently signed a six album deal with Warner Brothers.
Singer Ryan Dooley will be on familiar ground having studied music at the college between 2003 and 2005.
Music Tutor Lee Beddow said: “With Ryan, it was always clear he had potential and we’re always really pleased to see ex-students progressing in the industry, whether behind the scenes or ‘in the spotlight’ as Ryan is with “All The Young””
All the Young will be playing and answering questions from students at Stoke on Trent College’s Performing Arts Centre, Moorland Road, Burslem, on Saturday, 24 March.
They have a gig at Keele University on the evening of 24 March as part of a UK tour to promote their debut album “Welcome Home.”
Formerly called New Education, the four-piece is made up of Basford brothers Jack and Ryan Dooley, Will Heaney from Stoke, and David Cartwright from Fenton.
Charles Bartholomew, Assistant Director of Media and Performing Arts, said: “We have several talented musicians and bands among our student body. They are in the position that All the Young were just a couple of years ago and this visit should serve as an inspiration to our students.”
“The fact that Ryan, Jack, Will and David are happy to take time out from their busy tour schedule is fantastic.”
