A group of beauty students are set to help shoppers dazzle this Christmas as festivities get underway.
Free makeovers will be on offer to BHS customers on Thursday, November 21st, as part of the city’s Christmas light switch- on celebrations.
From 4.30pm to 9pm the students from Level 2 Make-up, Consultancy and Nail Treatments at Stoke on Trent College, will carry out nail painting and nail art, make-up application demonstrations and techniques, as well as cosmetic advice.
BHS has teamed up with the college to help their customers get the look they want this Christmas and showcase their new cosmetic products, as well as help the students gain vital experience.
Gill Jones, Assistant Director of Hair, Beauty and Holistic Therapies at Stoke on Trent College, said “This is a great opportunity for the students as they will be in a customer facing role and gaining key experience for the future.
There are always lots of popular make-up trends during the festive season and our students will be using their professional skills to help shoppers re-create the look, whether it’s smoky eyes or help with bronzing.
It means customers will get the chance to get some VIP treatment whilst finding out how to add that extra bit of sparkle to their look this Christmas.”
Huge crowds are expected at the much anticipated Christmas light switch-on which has become a key event in the city’s calendar. This year’s event will climax with a performance from X Factor winner Matt Cardle.
