CHILDREN and staff at First Steps Nursery are getting into the spirit of Children In Need on Friday by hosting their very own pyjama party.
The tiny tots aged from 12 weeks to five years, will be arriving at the Shelton nursery dressed ready for bed in return for a donation to the appeal. They will also bring a range of delicious homemade cakes with them to sell to raise even more cash for the charity.
Nursery manager Karen Whitmarsh, said:
“We took part in the Children In Need day last year and the children really enjoyed it, so we have decided we will do it again this year and see if we can raise even more cash for such a good cause. We try to get involved in fundraising events when we can, and we also recently raised some money for the Jeans For Genes day as well.”
Around 25 children are expected to take part in the day together with seven staff.
The First Steps Nursery is based within the Cauldon Campus of Stoke-on-Trent College and is open to members of the public. It was judged by Ofsted inspectors as outstanding in their inspection report last year.
The nursery is open from Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm, and Friday from 8.30pm to 4.30pm during term time. For more information about First Steps Nursery, call 01782 603507.
