Stoke on Trent College is one of the UK’s top colleges for employer satisfaction, according to figures published on gov.uk.
More than 52,000 organisations responded to the nationwide FE Choices survey to rate their satisfaction with over 1,450 UK colleges and apprenticeship training providers.
Companies who work with Stoke on Trent College gave a 93.8% satisfaction rating. This was more than 10% above the national average; the highest rating for any college in Staffordshire and in the top 6% of 1,459 colleges and training providers in the UK.
Announcing the results, Kevin Smith, Director of Apprenticeships at Stoke on Trent College, comments: “We work with more than 500 companies in Staffordshire and surrounding areas and we’re very pleased with the exceptionally high levels of satisfaction in our service.
He adds: “We have more than £1m funding available to businesses for apprenticeships and we pride ourselves on a responsive approach to using that funding to meet employer needs.
Stoke on Trent College works very closely with local stakeholders to monitor and respond to demand for specific types of training. Examples include our work with Bell Partnership, Michelin, the Smart City Alliance, North Staffordshire Engineering Group, Microsoft, Huawei and Alton Towers Resort.”
The annual FE Choices employer satisfaction survey establishes employers’ views on the quality of the training provided and the responsiveness to their needs.
