The special event took place as part of national #LoveOurColleges Week and is the culmination of a series of activities which have taken place across the college to celebrate all that colleges have to offer.

Jo Gideon, MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central saidI was delighted to be able visit Stoke on Trent College to hand out certificates to their students during the National #LoveOurColleges Week to celebrate their outstanding success. They have done themselves and the college proud. I also want to congratulate all the staff who have worked so hard to support the students.”

Learners took part from across the college in a range of vocational areas including Sport, Hospitality and Catering, Foundation Studies and Barbering.

Amongst the many benefits of choosing a vocational qualification, students enjoy the more practical way of learning this route provides. As a college, we have outstanding relationships with our local employers and our learners benefit from this as we work collaboratively to offer ‘real-life’ experiences such as work experience, projects set by employers and ‘on-site’ visits.

We are really pleased with how well our learners are adapting to all that life at Stoke on Trent College has to offer and to be hosting the first of our monthly celebration events.  Our learners have made an excellent start to the new term and we wish them all the best for their future studies,” commented Lisa Capper MBE, CEO and Principal.

Among those receiving awards was learner Jack Chaddock, a Hospitality and Catering student who is determined to push himself to succeed.
