Further Education Minister visits Stoke on Trent College Renewable Technology Centre

A centre designed to train the green technicians of the future will be visited by a Government Minister.

John Hayes MP, Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning, will meet vocational students at Stoke on Trent College today and will be shown facilities for construction and associated trades on the College’s Burslem campus.

Martin Ball, Assistant Director of Building Engineering Services, said: “The Renewable Technology Centre will be used by our students studying subjects including plumbing, gas, electrical, heating and ventilation and for companies to up skill their workforce.”

Students attending the centre will learn skills in areas including solar hot water, photo voltaic panels, ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating ventilation systems and rainwater and grey water harvesting.
