Students at Stoke on Trent College are gearing up to tread the boards over summer – as they get ready to play host to a festival of events celebrating the end of a rewarding year’s study.
The College’s Burslem campus will play host to shows, plays, exhibitions and dance events throughout May and June.
Learners involved in the festival will be from courses including Access to Music, Performing Arts, Art, Media and Photography.
All events will be held at the Performance Venue, J Block on the Moorland Road campus.
The programme ends with a grand finale, which will see students portray characters from the politically intriguing story of betrayal ‘Julius Caesar’ by William Shakespeare, on June 29 and 30.
Martin Alcock, Lecturer in Performing Arts at the College said: “This is a really exciting time for the students as they get the chance to really show off their talents and work.
“As part of their courses they are required to put on a final major project which sees them organise and perform to real, paying audiences.”
“The festival will be a really thrilling string of events – it is like an explosion of arts media that everyone wants a piece of.”
