Travel and Tourism students from Stoke on Trent College carried out a beach Clean and litter survey this week.

As part of their Responsible Tourism Unit, the youngsters worked in collaboration with the Marine Conservation Society and Beach Watch, on an area of the coast at Southport beach.

Travel and Tourism lecturer Rebecca Marshall said: “Participating in activities such as this highlights the importance of beach litter generated through Tourism activity on the UK’s coastline and the impact this can have on our marine life. All tourism companies advocate the necessity for care and consideration with our environment and this enforces that message with our students right from the start!”
