Real employer links
We work alongside many local employers, and value their professional input. In this way we ensure your course is right on track to meet the demands of business today and in the future. We also bring in guest speakers from employers such as Tesco and encourage visits to employers, such as Disneyland Paris, restaurants in Limoges, backstage at music festivals and Cadbury’s, all helping to build and maintain our employer relationships and your employment opportunities. Local employers endorse and support our approach to the development of employability skills.
Real work experience
Enrol with us and you’ll discover your study programme is much more than just a course. Because we offer an experience of work within the programme, you are automatically exposed to real employment situations. This hands-on, practical experience is an essential learning environment where you will ‘go live’, putting your skills to good use in real time, whilst at the same time really enhancing your CV and future employment possibilities. Once you have accepted your place at college it is essential for you to try and find an employer who would be willing to provide you with a short period of work experience. The Work Experience Co-ordinators at the College will help and guide you with your placement. For more information please download the Work Experience Flyer or contact us on 01782 208208 ext. 3495.
Through our Job Shop we offer a ready-made programme of extra help, giving you even greater employment opportunities. We can organise part time jobs during your course, help you find full-time employment as your course comes to an end, and help find suitable Apprenticeships as well as offering job-search workshops in CV writing and interview techniques. Plus our unique ‘Work Ready+’ card, given to students who meet specific criteria, is designed to show potential employers that you are ready for the world of work…giving you a competitive advantage in the jobs market.
