Course Requirements

Entry Requirements

No formal requirements, but you will have a pre-induction interview/assessment to make sure this is the right level for you.

How Is It Assessed

Assessment is on-going throughout the course. For each unit that you work on, you will have to complete an assessment to evidence your learning and understanding. Your tutor will tell you when the assessments will take place. You must successfully pass all of the unit assessments in order to pass the course successfully.

How Is It Taught

The course is taught by an experienced and well-qualified lecturer and all classes are supported by a learning support assistant to ensure that 1-2-1 or small group support is available if necessary. The learning will take place in our Cauldon campus in the sports barn, gym, classrooms and computer suites. Learning is practical and hands on and accessible to everyone.

What Could I do Next

Support is provided to identify progression pathways that are appropriate to the individual. Progression can be within the Preparation 4 Vocation area to a level 1 or employability course or it can be within the Sport area or any of the other vocational areas that are on offer in college.

What Else Do I Need To Know

All of the Prep 4 courses are smaller sized classes to allow more individual support that nurtures and develops learners and their learning. As the course progresses throughout the year, more independence and autonomy is encouraged.
