Course Summary
This is a full-time course offered to 16-18 year olds for whom English is not their first language. The programme is designed to give students the language and study skills necessary to access further study programmes within FE, and provide them with the essential skills to live and work in the UK. Students attend ESOL classes at Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3 and prepare for the ESOL City and Guilds qualifications. The rest of the programme includes Numeracy, Employability and Enrichment and you will have the opportunity to take part in a vocational taster, such as motor vehicle, hair and beauty, construction to support your progression and help you to make choices.Course Requirements
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. An interview is required to assess yourEnglish and Numeracy skills, so that you can be placed in classes at the correct level.
How Is It Taught
You attend ESOL classes with other young students to develop your language skills. Numeracy is also taught in the classes. The tutorial and enrichment programme gives you the opportunity to experience a range of educational settings in and out of the classroom, whilst the vocational tasters enable you to make choices about your progression. The programme is delivered and assessed in English.What Could I do Next
