You will initially meet with the TAQA tutor, who will discuss the units with you and decide which qualification you should undertake. You will enrol for one unit at a time (starting with 301 or 401). You will be issued with the unit work when you enrol and the TAQA tutor will monitor your progress. You will be able to attend workshops if required and have regular tutorial meetings to discuss your work. Your TAQA tutor will be available via email / telephone for help and advice as required.

What Could I do Next

You may wish to complement your assessor/quality assurance qualification with the Award in Education and Training.

What Else Do I Need To Know

The knowledge and understanding component of the CAVA and IQA qualifications are completed first. Candidates may then progress to the practical assessment and quality assurance modules. To undertake the IQA qualification, you must… a) Have access to a minimum of two assessors and conduct monitoring activities with them, to gather the evidence required for 402. The college cannot provide assessors for this purpose, you must make your own arrangements to undertake IQA if you are not currently doing so. b) Have a team of IQAs, whose work you plan and monitor, to gather evidence for 403. c) Be occupationally competent, according to the Awarding Body guidelines, for the qualifications you are monitoring.
