How Is It Assessed
To gain this qualification, candidates must successfully achieve the following assessments: A number of practical tasks across a full range of plumbing systems Six externally set, externally marked online exams.
How Is It Taught
Skills, knowledge and behaviour are taught throughout the programme with a mixture of workshop practical and classroom theory sessions. The course is approximately 70% theory and 30% practical
What Could I do Next
Entry to employment/ Apprenticeship in Domestic Plumbing and Heating, entering onto year three of the four year programme
What Else Do I Need To Know
This qualification is supported by the APHC (Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors). Since being established in 1925 APHC have been representing employers of all sizes within the plumbing sector. They work closely with key organisations such as Government, Local Authorities, Training Bodies and Consumer Organisations to ensure that best practice in the industry is promoted and that quality plumbing and heating contractors are fairly represented. They are also at the heart of maintaining vocational standards within the sector. APHC supports the above qualification as being important for employment within the industry.
