Stoke-on-Trent Businesses Unite to Donate over 300 Boxes of Food to Local Charities

Local businesses join forces to spread holiday cheer through generous donations of food and toys…

Stoke-on-Trent City Centre Business Improvement District (BID) is proud to share that over 300 boxes have been donated by organisations across the city, as part of their ‘Giving Together’ charity collection campaign.

Aimed at making a meaningful impact during the festive season, businesses across the city have come together to donate essential food items and toys for those less fortunate this Christmas. Recipients of the donations span across Stoke-on-Trent, and aid in making the festive season a little brighter for organisations and individuals who have very little, including Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank, YMCA North Staffordshire, The Hubb Foundation, Better Together Community and the Tri Services Veterans Support Centre. In 2022, a total of 75 boxes were collected. This year, businesses participated across Stoke-on-Trent, including the city centre, Festival Park and beyond. Just some of the items donated included 200 tins of potatoes, 42 Christmas puddings, 28 teddy bears, 4 slow cookers and 2 bicycles.

Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID CEO, Richard Buxton, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from businesses and the community, saying:

“The ‘Giving Together’ campaign is a testament to the compassion that runs deep within our city. It warms our hearts to see businesses, large and small, come together to make a positive impact on the lives of those who may be struggling during the holidays. We would like to thank our businesses in the city centre, surrounding festival park and valued partners for their generosity.”
